Obama’s Stimulus Plan Fails Small Biz

by W Vito Montone on April 27, 2010

BU ppl blog pressrelease 150x150 Obamas Stimulus Plan Fails Small BizDespite his efforts, Obama’s stimulus plan finance reform has failed micro-business.

And while disappointing, it’s time to get real— and wake up!

This is a critical situation that has put (us) entrepreneurs in the hot seat to step up and really ask the question…

“Who’s gonna save us?”

The stimulus plan is selfishly being used by big banks to further lessen their own loan liability, stunting the growth of small business. As a result, the vitality of micro-business has been incredibly compromised… Frankly, it’s no surprise, we must save ourselves!

Now we have all listened over and over to economists (and President Obama) stress the vital importance of entrepreneurship in America as a means to pull it out of the current recession (no pressure there, right?)…

But get this… the five million micro-businesses who earn under $5,000,000 in annual gross revenues… AND represent more than 40% of the Gross National Product (GNP) are NOT being helped.

Unfortunately it makes no sense to wait for support from the Federal Government.

While it has been disappointing for the entrepreneurial community to witness the lock down of micro-business lending, we entrepreneurs must look to other means in which to grow and sustain our businesses. It starts with raising private capital OR strengthen our boot-strapping skills.

Don’t worry it can, and is being done.  Heck BrandU members are doing it with clarity and confidence — and as you’ve heard us talk over and over about it… it’s all through conscious business.  There is simply no other way.

Wikipedia defines conscious biz or Triple Bottom-line (3BL)  as “expanding the traditional business framework to take into account ecological and social performance in addition to financial performance.”

It really is all about people, profit and the planet!

It’s about a real connection between business and the entrepreneur, and business and the world, which then creates a viable authentic responsible business that will inoculate us from the mistakes of the past.

No matter the culture, the future of the world is in the balance, and ya gotta do is follow the formula.

So…to prove this is true, Kim and I will be selecting 10,000 entrepreneurs worldwide to actively work with us and other like-minded conscious entrepreneurs. You can learn more about qualifying and getting a subsidy toward our Business Profit System.

It’s actually very cool, and our way of really giving back to you, so that you and tens of thousands entrepreneurs out there can come together and make the impact we were put on this earth to make!

I couldn't agree more. Success has always been about recognizing opportunity and taking action. It can be stressful to be “cut off” from the teet of government and the big money banks. It's tempting to whine about it, but just as babies grow up, so must we as business owners. We must operate smarter and more consciously, and most importantly, more connected to Source and each other. Thanks for a great post!
